PARTNERSHIP PROGRAMS

Our year-round programs utilize the resources on our farm as platforms for participants to develop job skills. Our programs have an emphasis on supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as youth from nearby Atlantic City. All work is carried out through partnerships with other organizations.

THE CARE FARMING NETWORK

Reed's Farm is proud to be part of the Care Farming Network. CARE farming uses therapeutic farming to promote health, well-being and belonging. The Care Farming Network connects established and aspiring care farms, fosters meaningful support, and builds awareness about the transformative power of care farming. They aim to cultivate a supportive community for care farmers, nurturing growth, resilience, and collaboration.

VOCATIONAL TRAINING
AND INTERNSHIPS

Many of our paid on-farm vocational opportunities are facilitated through partnerships with supported employment agencies and programs.

These programs provide individuals with disabilities the opportunity to develop valuable skills and foster a deep connection with nature. Participants engage in meaningful tasks that contribute to the farm’s operations, from planting to harvesting. These experiences offer more than just education - they help to build confidence and self-sufficiency, laying the groundwork for long-term personal and professional growth.

If you are interested in internship opportunities, please reach out to Melanie at melanie@reedsorganicfarm.org.

YOUTH EDUCATION

Reed's Farm is proud to partner with youth groups, schools and clubs based in Atlantic City to provide opportunities for nutritional education and environmental engagement. Participants in our youth education programs learn via hands-on experiences about where their food comes from, how it's grown and harvested, and its nutritional impacts.

COMMUNITY SOUP

At Reed’s Farm, we’re proud to nourish our community in a simple but powerful way: through our soup-making program, Community Soup. Dedicated volunteers join us each Monday morning, turning leftover produce from our market into hearty soups - a meaningful way to reduce waste while giving back. These committed individuals come together to transform surplus produce into over 1,000 pints of nutritious soup throughout the year, which are made available to those in need throughout Atlantic City.

Community Soup supports local families, and fosters purposeful partnerships with organizations such as Oceanside Family Success Center, The Leadership Studio, and the Community Food Bank of New Jersey. Through the Community Soup program, our commercial kitchen becomes a learning space, where neurodiverse students from Atlantic County Special Services, Atlantic County Institute of Technology, and Eagle Academy gain culinary skills while contributing nutritious meals to those facing food insecurity.

FREE NUTRITION CLASSES

We have partnered with the Community Food Bank of New Jersey to provide nutritional classes once a month, free of charge. Through NJ SNAP-Ed, CFBNJ provides free, engaging
nutrition education workshops that help neighbors who
are eligible for SNAP choose healthy food on a budget
and make physical activity a part of their lives. Workshops
are offered both in-person and virtually to SNAP-eligible
teens, adults, pregnant women/new moms, and seniors
in a variety of settings.

Interested in signing up for a nutrition class? Email Jenny at jenny@reedsorganicfarm.org.
