On September 22nd, we celebrated the changing of the seasons in true farm fashion with our Harvest Moon Celebration.
The golden hues of the late afternoon sky set the perfect stage for a delightful evening of music, food, and community, as attendees lounged at picnic tables and on lawn chairs alongside the market. With pumpkins, gourds, and fall flowers tucked into every nook, Reed’s Farm transformed into a cozy autumn haven. The atmosphere was laid-back, the temperature just right - and the night unfolded in a relaxed rhythm that felt like pure magic.
Mike D'Arc's live covers of Neil Young songs filled the early evening air; music floated through the farm, setting a nostalgic mood. Guests savored the sounds while indulging in an array of our wood-fired pizzas. From classic Margheritas to more inventive combinations, each slice was topped with fresh ingredients harvested from our fields.
Tastings of seasonal delicacies were a crowd favorite, with everyone gathering around to try handcrafted herbal teas, fermented tomatoes, fresh-baked breads, and dips made with ingredients grown on the farm. Leah Martin, our resident herbalist, presented an educational fire cider demonstration, while our programming director, Melanie Reed, hosted a hands-on herbal salt demo. These were exciting, interactive moments where guests could see, smell, and taste the herbs we grow and learn how to incorporate them into their own cooking and wellness routines.
We were thrilled to debut our Reed’s Roots Membership at the event: attendees got an inside look at what becoming a member means, and the exclusive perks that come with it. To top it off, we offered some favorite farm products for sale, including handmade soy candles from Light of Dawn and herbal line products--perfect for anyone looking to take a little piece of the farm home with them.
Craft beer lovers had plenty to enjoy as well, thanks to The Seed's curated selection of bold and flavorful brews. Each beer was carefully chosen to pair with the farm-fresh feast, making for an elevated tasting experience. It was the perfect complement to the food and the relaxed, festive energy of the evening.
All in all, the Harvest Moon Celebration was a night to remember, and we’re so grateful to everyone who joined us. We couldn’t have asked for better weather or company.
