THE GARDENS

Our three gardens are a testament to diversity and communal effort. Experience the rich variety in the Peace and Unity Revival Garden, the healing herbs of our Herbal Garden, and the collaborative projects in our Programming Garden. Each area offers a unique opportunity to connect with nature and learn more about our sustainable farming practices.

OUR PEACE AND UNITY REVIVAL GARDEN

At Reed's Farm, the Peace and Unity Revival Garden stands as a testament to harmony and cultural connection. Featuring over 600 species of vegetables and plants from all corners of the world, this space is a vibrant tapestry of agricultural diversity. Damon Smith, our dedicated longtime volunteer, spearheads its development and maintenance.

Damon is a military veteran who turned to gardening to aid in healing from the trauma that comes from war. As a personal project, he began collecting seeds from countries at war with each other and planting them together to bring unity through plants and food.

Damon is currently trying to find at least one seed from every country in the world. This year, our Peace and Unity Revival Garden at Reed’s farm has grown to represent 170 countries, totaling over 600 species of edible plants. It contains 176 varieties of peppers and 100 varieties of tomatoes alone!

As a connected project, he will be assisting our programming participants in planting a New Jersey garden, which will include several varieties of Jersey heirloom vegetables, such as the Jersey Devil tomato and the Jenny Lind Melon.

The Peace and Unity Revival (OUR) garden can be found to the left of the property, behind the greenhouses.

THE SENSORY GARDEN

OPEN DURING MARKET HOURS

The Sensory Garden at Reed’s Farm is designed to support the physical and mental well-being of our community through fostering meaningful connections with nature. This garden serves as an interactive environment where visitors can engage all their senses, experiencing the textures, scents, and colors of the natural world in a way that promotes mindfulness and relaxation. Our programming in the Sensory Garden reflects our commitment to inclusivity and community engagement.

We partner with local schools and organizations to provide educational and vocational opportunities that empower people of all abilities. By immersing participants in the natural world, we help them develop a sense of stewardship for the Earth while celebrating the diversity that makes our community strong. This garden offers a rich tapestry of sights, sounds, textures, and smells, and serves as a space where all visitors can explore the natural world.

Through our field trips, group volunteer days, and hands-on activities in the Sensory Garden, we encourage all who find themselves here to explore the farm, learn about regenerative agriculture, and experience the therapeutic benefits of spending time outdoors.

THE LEARNING GARDEN

OPEN DURING MARKET HOURS

The Learning Garden at Reed’s Farm is a dedicated space for our vocational program participants that provides an environment to experience hands-on education in sustainable agricultural practices. In this garden, program participants with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as youth from nearby Atlantic City, can develop essential job skills in a supportive and inclusive environment.

The garden serves as both a classroom and a workplace, where participants learn the art of growing, tending, and harvesting crops, all while building confidence and independence. Our vocational programs are designed to empower participants by providing meaningful opportunities to engage with the land.

Through activities like seed starting, planting, harvesting, and crop management, they gain practical skills that can be applied in various settings. The Learning Garden is more than just a place to grow plants—it’s a nurturing environment where participants can grow personally and professionally.

Thank you for supporting regenerative agriculture and community programming in our area.
